ABOUT THE FILM

What grief
leaves behind.

A mental health advocate questions the relevance of her work after the tragic loss of her brother.

Set in the USA, 49 to 51 follows Pooja Mehta, an American mental health advocate of Indian origin, as she navigates the aftermath of her brother's suicide. Rather than focusing on the causes of his death, the film turns its attention towards those left behind, exploring suicide survivorship, grief, and the ways we can support people living through such loss.

In the context of the Film Days, it opens a space for us to look carefully at grief and learn to stand beside those who suffer tragic loss with greater humanity and understanding.

ART & GRIEF WORKSHOP / KOSHIKA
